Golf Courses:
The real beauty of golf at Barnham Broom is the contrasting character of the two courses and the challenges they offer. Take the Valley Course, beautifully designed by Frank Pennink, one of Europe’s most respected golf course architects, with abundant water features, blending into the delightful natural landscape. Then there’s the Hill Course, another of Frank’s designs, although, this time, modified by Donald Steel. As its name suggests, golfers can enjoy fine views over the surrounding countryside, while rising to the challenge posed by constant breezes and carefully placed bunkers guarding the greens. A complete golf resort – Barnham Broom’s courses are complemented by the superb practice facilities, including three academy holes and tuition from our three PGA professionals.
Valley Course at Barnham Broom
18 holes, 72 par, 6555 yards. Parkland.
Meandering down the valley of the River Yare, the Valley Course at Barnham Broom measuring 6,483-yards, is a more mature golf course than its sister that features various testing water hazards. Established in 1977 and former host of European Tour events, the surrounding countryside at this illustrious course offers fantastic views to perfectly complement a challenging round of golf. Overall a great layout that is consistently rated as one of Norfolk’s best golf courses.
Hill Course at Barnham Broom
18 holes, 71 par, 6588 yards. Parkland.
As hinted in the name, the par 71 Hill golf course has peaks offering stunning views over the surrounding Norfolk countryside. This golf course has been further modified by course architect Donald Steel which can bring into play some tricky wind affected shots as a result of the elevation change. Additionally, the well-guarded greens offer a different but interesting challenge when compared to that of the Valley Course.
