Bamburgh Castle has one of the most beautiful and entertaining courses in Britain. It is short but tricky, fun but thought-provoking.
Play starts with two par 3s followed by two par 5s; there are six par 3s in all and they form the key to a good round; the last three holes are a great finish to any round: a birdie is possible for any golfer at all three as is a double bogey.
The recently extended Clubhouse was originally built in 1904 at the founding of the course and the charm of that period is retained in this welcoming building.
There is a charming wood panelled bar with a wide range of drinks and very good quality bar snacks. The bar affords extensive sea views towards Lindisfarne and the Farne Islands and overlooks the first tee.
